The February release brings the following enhancements:
1. New UI for commenting and reading feedback
We did a complete re-design of our UI for posting comments, reading discussion threads and track changes. We focused on usability and ease of use. You can learn more reading our blog: http://www.agilewords.com/blog/
2. Ability to select text you comment on
Many of you requested the ability to select text to comment. This is now possible. After you select some text on the document, the comment popup will appear; once the comment is posted, the selected text will remain highlighted, making it easy for collaborators to find comments.
3. Simplified security and permissions management
We made several key improvements to the way your company can manage security and permissions; first, we made it easy for the client space admin to view, edit, and update collaborators’ permissions, including access to workspaces. Second, we introduced the ‘workspace manager’ role. In a nutshell, a workspace manage can manage a subset of company workspaces – f.i.: legal workspaces or marketing workspaces. This is great when you want to delegate access and permissions management to team leaders.
4. Easy access to online editing function
Previously to make the content editable, you had to right-click on text to display a context menu and select ‘Edit content’. Many users with authors permissions were not aware of that right-click feature. We made it easier to edit content by showing a ‘Edit’ link and pen on the left of the document when you rollover the paragraph. Clicking the ‘Edit’ link or icon makes the paragraph editable. Simpler no?
5. Bug fixing:
- improved comment posting on text select
- fixed user roles on documents
- fixed email notifications after a user finishes a task
- improved document transformation
