There are two reasons why you cannot edit a document:

1. The document owner invited you as a reviewer and did not give you author permissions on the document
2. The document is not in review so it cannot be edited

If the document is in review and you are an Author then you will see an ‘Edit icon and link when you move your mouse over the text in the document. For more information you can visit http://help.agilewords.com .
